VMware Partner Programs Termination Notice
 
 
 
 

For more than two years, VMware has outlined its plan to transition from a perpetual to a subscription-based business model. This is consistent with the overall market trend toward cloud operating models and was reinforced with the launch and evolution of VMware’s Partner Connect Program.

On December 11, 2023, VMware by Broadcom announced its simplified licensing model and solution portfolio. Broadcom and VMware are driven by technology and innovation and have a shared passion for, and commitment to, partner profitability and success. You are now well positioned to capture substantial growth opportunities for delivering advanced, innovative cloud infrastructure and associated services wherever your customers need.

To that end, we are excited to announce that we will be transitioning all of VMware’s partner programs to the by-invitation-only award-winning Broadcom Advantage Partner Program, effective February 5, 2024. The decision to transition to the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program was based on, amongst other research and analysis, the voice of the partner as revealed through recent discussions with hundreds of partners across the globe.

Through the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program, we plan to offer:

  • Simplified partner profitability opportunities with Broadcom’s net margin model
  • Compensation for renewals as well as incumbency protection
  • Deal registration discounts with differentiation by program tier
  • Performance-based incentives for renewal business
  • Simplified certification requirements and free training for all partners

Our goal is to help VMware by Broadcom Advantage partners achieve even greater opportunities for profitability through a simplified model that reduces administrative complexities and focuses on fewer bundled offerings with add-ons that deliver greater value to customers, providing predictable up-front discounting and greater opportunities for partner delivered services revenue. Please watch for additional information to be shared in the coming weeks and months through the links below.

Effective today, we are also announcing changes to VMware's partner programs which will exist through February 4, 2024. Please refer to the VMware partner program operative changes on the VMware by Broadcom Essential Partner Information page.

Also effective today, all VMware Partner Incentive programs will end on or before February 4, 2024. For specifics, please refer to the VMware Partner Programs EOL & Transition FAQ document (also located on the VMware by Broadcom Essential Partner Information page), including any actions you may be required to take.

Important Actions

As mentioned above, Broadcom’s Advantage Partner Program is a by-invitation-only program. Partner invitations into the Broadcom Advantage program will begin in January and the timeline will vary by partner type and route to market. Invitations will be sent to the partner identified primary and alternate contacts on file with VMware. Take this opportunity to ensure your company's contact information is correct within the 'My Company' section of the Partner Connect portal home page.

In the meantime, please continue to check the VMware by Broadcom Essential Partner Information page for the latest information. All changes to the current VMware Partner programs and future plans will be posted here and they will supersede all VMware program guides. Note: these changes do not affect transactions for either the Carbon Black or End User Compute offerings unless otherwise noted in the Partner Connect portal.
