Dear Valued Customers and Partners, If you claimed a Sales/Use Tax exemption on purchases of End-User Computing (EUC) products and/or services from VMware LLC/ Inc. in the U.S., action is required to maintain your tax-exempt status. As you may be aware, Broadcom Inc. (which acquired VMware), has agreed to spin off the EUC Business to KKR, a leading global investment firm. This transaction is expected to close later this year. To prepare the EUC Business for this transition, effective on or about May 6, 2024, EUC will be known as Omnissa, LLC in the U.S. As such, please provide new tax exemption certificates issued to “Omnissa, LLC” for all state and local/home-rule jurisdictions in which you plan to “ship” products and/or receive services. Please note, the following States do not appear on the “MTC Uniform Sales & Use Tax Exemption Certificate – Multijurisdiction” form so additional state-specific forms are needed for: DC - District of Columbia IN – Indiana LA – Louisiana MA – Massachusetts MS – Mississippi NY – New York VA – Virginia WV – West Virginia WY – Wyoming
To ensure a smooth billing transition, tax exemption certificates should be received by April 30, 2024. Please remember to sign & date each completed form and return by email to [email protected]. Any exemption forms provided after the billing start date must be back-dated to May 6, 2024. Broadcom Indirect Tax Department |
